Center Mass Training Institute launched as a division of Center Mass, Inc. in 1998 with three schools. Basic police sniper, patrol rifle®instructor and the nation’s first active assailant response school.
Our training programs have since remained very focused on officer survival and all that follows in the aftermath of a deadly force engagement.
The methodology and subject matter in most of our programs combine some level of academics, case law, fundamentals, de-escalation, tactics, stress inoculation, accuracy requirements, mental health, leadership, and instructor development, all of which help produce well rounded law enforcement professionals.
Over the years, we have become aware of past students being involved in deadly force encounters that required them to use the subject matter that they either learned or improved upon while in our training programs to justifiably reduce threats and save lives. We are very proud that none of our past students have been killed in the line of duty and that they, or their agency, continue to attend or send students to our various training programs.
