Safety / Restrictions / Refunds / Standards
CMI conducts training for citizens, armed security companies, law enforcement and military clients. Except for the following, the rest of the policies below are intended for all clients;
Training Restrictions
Some of our law enforcement courses are only open to law enforcement officers (full time / part time / reserve / retired), military personnel (active / reserve / national guard / retired), DOD or DOE armed security personnel and State Department armed security contractors. Foreign nationals may attend our courses after they receive written approval from the U.S. State Department.
Training Standards
Some of our schools are performance based and require students to pass a written examination, our qualification course of fire, and assigned projects. A student’s inability to pass any single requirement will result in a certificate of training being issued for that subject matter, but in no case will a certification of any sort be issued. Students who are injured during a course or fail to pass the qualification course(s) of fire, may attempt to qualify again within six (6) months of the end of the course they attended.
Training Certifications
Law enforcement students who attend and graduate from our training programs receive a certification that is valid for a period of three years (unless otherwise noted). After the expiration date, unless the student attends a CMI update class or continuing education course, the training and any certifications associated with it are considered null and void, other than to serve as a means of proof to show that the student once attended a particular training program. This policy is meant to serve as a vehicle for our clients to receive updated and contemporary training in a particular discipline so that they are prepared to give their respective communities the best level of service possible.
Training Safety
CMI is very thorough in our teaching and maintenance of firearms safety. If any individual becomes a safety hazard or a disruptive student, they will be expelled from the course with no refund. All of our student training safety rules can be viewed by clicking the following link.
