Basic Police Sniper School: 5 days - 50 hours, $1019.00.
This school lays a solid educational and practical foundation for the new or veteran sniper looking to get back to the basics. In five days, we try to cover all the basics that a police sniper could encounter on their first call-out, as if it were scheduled to happen on Friday after graduation. The focus of this school is on operational tactics such as field-craft, observation, reporting, range estimation, urban tactics, and marksmanship skills with emphasis on the cold bore shot. Other areas of instruction include policy and equipment recommendations, the mechanics of the rifle and scope, ballistics, the data book, hostage rescue engagements, intermediate barriers, night fire, positional shooting, and moving targets. All graduates will have demonstrated proficiency at ranges of 5 to 200 yards.
Advanced Sniper Workshop: 2 days - 16 hours, $514.00.
This school is designed as a continuing education & training event for snipers that have already attended a basic police sniper school. All students receive a certificate of training and class ranking as many events will be conducted for score. The focus of this training is a review on intermediate barriers, positional shooting, moving targets, and night fire engagements that culminate in numerous scenarios testing the snipers observation and reporting capability, judgment, and cold bore accuracy. It is recommended that agencies send snipers in pairs to gain the best training affect.
.50 Caliber SASR Operator School: 4 days - 40 hours, $926.00.
This course is designed to fully indoctrinate the police sniper with the operation, maintenance, capabilities, limitations and employment of their weapon systems in support of law enforcement operations. This training is performance based and requires students to pass a written examination & qualification course of fire. Students should be in good physical condition. This course is 1/3 classroom and 2/3 on the range and in practical application. Graduates receive certification as a trained Fifty Caliber Scoped Rifle Operator. The course covers the following subject matter: Intro to FCSPI / History / Prior LE uses of fifty caliber / Agency policy on fifty caliber use / Weapon operation / Weapon maintenance / Scope operation and maintenance / Ammunition capabilities and limitations / Ballistics: internal, external, and terminal / Holds and leads for moving targets / Hide selection and shooting positions / Team set-up / Zeroing and bore sighting, basic grouping drills on the range / Penetration considerations and demonstration / Employment / Team make up / Stalking and team movement to the objective / Stalking prac-ap / Hide prac-ap / Shooting drills that exploit the full depth of available range facility / Grouping / Multiple shots / Multiple targets / Holds and leads for moving targets / Point blank range / Employment considerations for their specific jurisdiction, with site surveys, if possible (airports, port facilities, landmarks and other potential terrorist targets) / Mobile platforms, to include but not limited to vans, trucks, aerial, and maritime.
Police Sniper Instructor School: 5 days - 40 hours, $1132.00.
This school teaches the instructor candidate methods of how to conduct law enforcement relevant training for the snipers in their organization. The focus of this school is on instructor development, training organization and execution, liability reduction, operational tactics, and advanced sniper topics such as, intermediate barriers, angle shooting, night vision update and urban tactics using academic and practical teaching methods. Instructors should already be proficient snipers and must have attended a Basic Sniper School prior to attending this school. Graduates of this course will be able to instruct basic and precision rifle marksmanship to the police officer and make educated recommendations to the administration on deployment, equipment, & policy issues for the SWAT environment and sniper unit. Every graduate will have demonstrated proficiency in the weapons use from various shooting positions from 5 to 200 yards. Instructors will be exposed to moving targets, low light survival tactics and shooting, engagement of multiple adversaries, hostage rescue evolutions, judgment and scenario training, angle shooting if facilities allow, and intermediate barrier engagements.
Police Sniper Instructor Re-certification: 1 day - 8 hours, $256.00.
Current police sniper instructors can re-certify by attending this refresher course. Students are brought up to date on new technical, tactical, instructional and legal information. This course requires that the student demonstrate the ability to safely run the range, teach impromptu classes, and pass CMI’s police sniper instructor written exam and qualification course of fire.
