DESCRIPTION: This event is being hosted by the Metro Washtenaw County SWAT Team. It is designed as a continuing education & training event for police snipers. The primary purpose of the event is to test your training and gear against your peers to help identify areas of strength or weakness. The secondary purpose is networking and learning from your peers. At CMI, we have been in the training and competition business for 17 years, and we can unequivocally tell you that no better learning occurs than during the stress and camaraderie that only competition provides. Focus on your own personal and team performance, but don’t lose sight in watching and interacting with your peers. The elite teams will quickly become apparent to you as you watch them effectively negotiate the various courses of fire. What always sets them apart is their clear and concise communications, the equipment they use, their economy of motion, their physical endurance, and their absolute mastery of the fundamentals of marksmanship. LEARN FROM THEM. In addition, a running real time score board will keep you informed of your team’s position in the standings and will aid in your decision-making about the level of risk you might take in the next course of fire. Finally, because you will not know what the courses of fire will be until your arrival, this event supplements your ongoing, live-fire, scenario based training efforts.
This is a two-man team event. Both snipers will shoot in 5 separate police sniper-related courses of fire. Each sniper’s individual score will be kept separately, but the cumulative team score will determine where the team places at the end of the competition.
Lunch will be provided (hot dogs, chips and a pop or pizza – TBA).
This event is only open to law enforcement SWAT snipers, military snipers, or DOE snipers. This event will include courses of fire whereby physical stress will be induced. All participants should be in good physical condition.
All participants will receive a certificate of training and event ranking.
EQUIPMENT: Sniper rifle w/ sling, 100 rounds of ammunition, SWAT uniform to include pistol belt, pistol with no ammunition loaded, hearing and eye protection, soft body armor and ample water.
